Eidsiva Rederi

Norwegian Car Carriers ASA (formerly Eidsiva Rederi ASA) is a Norwegian shipping company, headquartered in Oslo.

History

The Eidsiva Rederi was founded in 1930 by Sverre Ditlev - Simonsen Sverre Ditlev - Simonsen as & Co is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since the same year. The shipping company operating first several cargo ships and tankers. With the start of production of North Sea oil to Eidsiva specializing in drilling vessels that operated under the subsidiary SDS Drilling AS. The company was sold in 1990 to the Ross Offshore Group and later at Transocean.

With the sale Eidsiva again changed its strategy and shifted the business in the field of bulk cargoes. Mid-1990 this plan was not pursued and Eidsiva entered the ro-ro, car transport and Fährmarkt.

In July 2010, merged with the Norwegian Eidsiva car transport companies Dyvi Shipping AS and renamed Norwegian Car Carriers ASA ( NOCC ).
