Eileen Barton

Eileen Barton (* November 24, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, † June 27, 2006 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American singer and actress.

Life

Eileen Barton was born in Brooklyn, New York, as a child of two vaudeville artists. Her first appearance was at the age of two and a half years on the show of her parents and sang the song Is not Misbehavin '. With three years she has performed in theater and had two performances daily. It was very early for a child star, and at the age of seven years she worked with Milton Berle on his radio program called Jolly Gillette. At 14, she became replacement actress for Nancy Walker on Broadway in the musical Best Foot Forward, followed by performances under your own name with Elaine Stritch in Angel in the Wings.

When Frank Sinatra was aware of her, he took her under his wing and let them occur Radio, which he produced in a regular broadcast on CBS. The following two years, she came again and again on the side of Frank Sinatra, among others, in several performances at the Paramount Theater.

Soon she got her own TV show called Teen Timers, later, The Eileen Barton Show. In 1949 she recorded the song If I Knew You Were Comin ' I'd've Baked a Cake (written by Bob Merrill, Al Hoffman and Clem Watts ), with which it twelve weeks at number one and a total of four months in the U.S. charts landed. In the UK the title in 1950 reached the top spot in the singles chart. After this success, she appeared as an artist becomes more common during hip nightclubs in New York. She was also seen in your career in numerous film and television productions.

She died on 27 June 2006 in Los Angeles at the age of 76 years.
