Eimen

Eimen is a municipality in the northern district of Minden wood in Lower Saxony ( Germany ) and belongs to Samtgemeinde Eschershausen City Oldendorf. The municipality also includes the villages of Mainzholzen and Vorwohle.

History

On the Elfas in Mainzholzen was from 1832 to 1849, a station of the Prussian optical telegraph.

In 1872, Godhard Prüssing in Vorwohle the Portland Cement Factory Prüssing, Planck & Co.

During the period of National Socialism was to Vorwohle a labor camp for Jews. There died including the metallurgist and physicist Benno Strauss ( 1873-1944 ).

1996 lived 1,144 inhabitants in the municipality.
