Eisfelder Talmuhle is a narrow gauge railway station of the Harz Railway and Selke Valley Railway on the B 81 in the Valley of Bere halfway between Ilfeld and Hasselfelde at an altitude of 352 m above sea level. History

The Karl -Heinz -Ludwig born in 1787 Eißfeldt built in 1838, in Beretal a grist mill, the mill Eißfeldtsche. Once a Royal Mail forwarding Hanover was established in 1847 Ilfeld, 1867, the ice fields Talmuhle was a post maintenance. A restaurant cultivation now added the new destination.

With the combination of the two railway companies NWE and GHE the new station in 1905 received his present representative station building instead of a previous wooden shack. When the grist mill burnt down completely by arson in 1913, a restaurant was set up in the station building.

Railway operation

Today, the operation is performed by the Harz narrow gauge railways. Until 1945 he was a community station in the NWE and the GHE. After the Second World War, the section between stairs and Strassberg was dismantled so that the branch Eisfelder Talmuhle - Hasselfelde had to be mitbetrieben of the Harzquerbahn. Only since 1983, built by the German Reichsbahn the route again and made ​​possible a continuous traffic to Gernrode. After closure of the railway line Frose - Quedlinburg Quedlinburg and the section between Gernode was rebuilt to narrow gauge with the track gauge 1000 mm. The station Eisfelder Talmuhle was filled to the early 1990s with a dispatcher. Then fell the station building, the restaurant remained closed. After a sale in recent years to a private investor, the station building was renovated and now opened a restaurant.

In addition to the Alexisbad railway station is the second station in the Harz Mountains, where remarkable double exits of two steam locomotives are observed, although modern railcars are predominantly in the daily operation today.
