Ekpyrotic universe

The Ekpyrotische universe ( AltGr. Ekpyrosis " World Brand" ) is a publicized in 2002 by Paul Steinhardt and Neil Turok cosmological model, which describes a theoretical possibility for the origin of our universe.

It makes similar statements such as the theories of the inflationary universe, albeit using the language of string theory. Thus, in the development process collides our universe with a parallel universe within a five-dimensional string theory described by the space ( "bulk "). However, should such an interaction of branes describe a cyclic universe, where it expands and then contracts, similar to the loop quantum gravity theory. This energy would be released sufficiently to explain the origin of matter and radiation. Direct measurement of high-frequency gravitational waves could provide an indication of the accuracy of the model.
