El Lebrijano

Juan Peña Fernández, also known as Juan Peña " El Lebrijano " or simply El Lebrijano (* 1941 in Lebrija, Seville ) is a Spanish flamenco guitarist and singer. As a nephew of Perrate de Utrera he grew up in a well-known musical family Gitanos. As a child, he began playing guitar and accompanied dancers such as La Paquera de Jerez, but ultimately turned the flamenco singing. In 1964 he won the Mairena del Alcor, one of the most important musical events in flamenco. With Paco de Lucía he started a collaboration in 1970. His last work is very much influenced by classical Andalusian music.
