El Mundo Deportivo (newspaper)

Mundo Deportivo (, Sportwelt ' ) until 1999 El Mundo Deportivo is a day in Barcelona, edited, Spanish sports newspaper. The newspaper was first published in 1906 and is named after the Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport, the second oldest in Europe.

The newspaper belongs to the Grupo Godó which also publishes the daily newspaper La Vanguardia. Primarily, the sports newspaper busy with football, especially with FC Barcelona but reported among other things about the Spanish basketball league, the World Motorcycle Championship, Formula 1 and cycling. In addition, different regional editions may be issued, then the Mundo Atlético deals mainly with Atlético Madrid, the Mundo Deportivo Athletic Bilbao Bizkaia with Mundo Deportivo and Gipuzkoa with Real Sociedad.

El Mundo Deportivo is in competition with sports, one also appearing in Barcelona sports daily, as well as to the appearing in Madrid Marca and As, where especially the latter is regarded as a house journal of Real Madrid.
