El Panecillo

El Panecillo is Spanish. The correspondence in German is the bun. It is the name of a hill in the middle of Quito, Ecuador's capital city. Quito is already above 2,800 meters above sea level. El Panecillo rises again about 200 more meters and reached a total height of 3,035 meters above the sea. The Spaniards gave the name of the hill el Panecillo beginning of the 16th century. In the pre-Inca he was called Yavirac, suggesting water resources. Of the Incas it was called Shungoloma or cardiac hill.
