Elazar, Gush Etzion

Elazar (Hebrew אלעזר ) is an Israeli settlement in Judea ( the West Bank), 18 km south of Jerusalem. The settlement was founded in 1975 and is located in Gush Etzion region. Counted the end of 2010, Elazar 1905 inhabitants, in 1994 there were 398 inhabitants.

The UN Secretary - General Ban Ki -moon and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton called 2011 the Israeli settlements in the territories occupied since 1967 as illegal under international law, Israel disputes this.
