Eldbjørg Raknes

Eldbjørg Raknes ( born February 9, 1970 in Midsund ) is a living in Trondheim Norwegian jazz singer and composer. It is less a performer known jazz standards as an experimental singer who understands their voice as an instrument and music poems in his own compositions. Biography

Eldbjørg Raknes studied after attending a theater school from 1990 to 1994 at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim Jazz singing and composition. As early as 1991 it was in a duo with the Norwegian pianist Christian Wallumrød at the International Jazz Festival in Molde her musical debut. That same year, she was co-founder of the a cappella lineup Kvitretten. In 1992, together with Raknes Wallumrød and the trumpeter Arve Henriksen Jazz Trio Nutrio. Their music was already mostly original compositions, often to texts of Swede Karin Boye or the American Dorothy Parker. In the following years she appeared alongside their studies on at various tours with Kvitretten and Nutrio as well as locally at own musical programs for children. In 1995 she was awarded in Norway with the award for best children's song.

1996 Eldbjørg Raknes Sidsel Endresen and ended with Elin Rosseland to the vocal trio ESE together. After the dissolution of Nutrio she founded her own quartet in 1997 Tingeling.
