Eldritch (band)

Eldritch is an Italian band from Livorno, whose style encompasses the genres Thrash Metal and Progressive Metal. According to information from the band after the song "The Eldritch " the Texan band Watchtower has named.

History

The band was founded in 1991 by singer Terrence Holler, guitarist Eugene Simone and drummer Adriano Dal Canto, who had previously played together in the band Zeus. The three first demo titled Reflection of Sadness was recorded a year later expanded the band to bassist and keyboardist Martin Kyhn Oleg Smirnoff. This occupation, in 1993, more songs on a demo, which the band in 1995 earned a record deal with the record label Limb Music Products.

This label released in 1995 in collaboration with the specialized on Progressive Rock / Metal company InsideOut Music, the debut album Seeds Of Rage. Just like the 1997 follow-up album released Headquake it received good reviews in the trade press and allowed the band to be known internationally quite fast. In 1997, the band could therefore already tour with Angra and also occur on the renowned Gods of Metal festival in Milan.

1998 the third album El Niño, which has toured extensively again. However, Dal Canto showed drummer and keyboardist Smirnoff after the European tour with Threshold and Pain of Salvation fatigue, which is why Sean Henderson met for Smirnoff and Dave Simeone for Dal Canto the band. Only in 2001 appeared the follow-up album Reverse, which emphasized the thrash component of the music stronger. After the album's release, the band performed again at the Gods of Metal festival and increased thereafter with Roberto Proietti a rhythm guitarist. In the aftermath Kyhn bassist and keyboardist Henderson left the band for personal reasons. The keyboard position was not filled, but then played bass Lisa Oliviero from the band Icycore.

With this line without keyboardist, the band played the 2004 album Portrait Of The Abyss Within one which was based very closely, for example, Nevermore on melodic progressive thrash. Oliviero has always been considered more of a temporary solution as bassist and replaced by John Crystal 2005. 2006 saw the album Neighbourhell.

On 20 April 2007, the band released their seventh album Blackenday published. Guest appearances on the album have Ray Alder of Fates Warning and Nicholas Van Dyk of the band Redemption. Eldritch have played Metal festival again this year on the Italian Gods Of.
