Electra (Pleiad)

Electra (Greek Ἠλέκτρα ) was a daughter of Atlas and Pleione, and thus one of the seven Pleiades. By Zeus she became the mother of Iasion, Dardanus and Harmonia. According to Servius, however Iasion was the son of the Italian king Korythos.

The name Electra is also linked to the Palladium, Revered in Troy image of Pallas Athena. Thus, the portrait of Athena would have been thrown together with Elektra over Ilion of Zeus, where Ilus built a temple for it. According to another report Elektra has brought the Palladium as a votive gift to Ilium.
