elektor

Elektor is a trade magazine for electronics, technical computer science and applied computer technology.

It is (still beginning in the 1970s in Gangelt ) issued since May 1970 in German language from the Elektor -Verlag GmbH in Aachen and is one of the last remaining magazines for electronics hobbyists. In addition to the already longer appearing Dutch parent edition there is also a French, British, American, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, Swedish, Portuguese and Brazilian output. With these eleven editions Elektor holds the record for the monthly electronic magazine and is available in over 50 countries. The translator in the early years of the German edition was the current TV journalist Wolfgang Back.

Particularity

Published annually ten issues since January / February double issue in July / August instead of two ordinary spending a semiconductor booklet with " over 100 circuits " will be released. Name

The name is German for the title of the Dutch parent issue Elektuur; this consists of the words Elektronica = " electronics" and Lektuur = " reading, reading material " together, therefore, the German title is formed by contraction of the words electronics and lecturer.

As part of the international nature of the business to appear in October 2007, all expenditure under the name Elektor, the Dutch parent edition.

The name is written on the title graphic, except for those born in the 1990s, with a Anfangsminuskel ( " elektor " ), otherwise with a Anfangsmajuskel ( " Elektor ").
