Element Eighty

Element Eighty was an American nu metal band from Tyler, Texas, which was founded in 2000 and broke up in 2006. After a start-up in 2007, the band was disbanded again in 2010.

History

The founding members were David Galloway (vocals), Matt Woods ( guitar), Ryan Carroll ( drums) and Roon ( bass). Just one year after its creation, it published on 21 June 2001 their first album Mercuric. The album was personally produced and distributed by the band. The name comes from the eightieth element of the Periodic Table of mercury, equivalent in English, the title of the album.

In April 2003, she signed a contract with Universal / Republic Records and released on 8 October 2003 their first major label album Element Eighty. On it both new songs, as well as songs from the album Mercuric be heard. Then they were with bands like Sevendust, Ill Nino, Flaw, 40 Below Summer and Mushroomhead on Tour.

After a few months they realized that their record company, despite the success of the self-titled album (among other things they were involved in the soundtrack for the racing game Need for Speed: Underground), was not working for them. There were no videos, promotional still attempts to make the band known. Therefore they separated in late 2004 from the label.

A little later, the original bassist Roon left the band and was replaced by Zack Bates. On November 5, 2005, they released their second album The Bear on the self- founded label Texas Cries Records. There she also took on lesser-known bands, but which benefit in the course of fame of Element Eighty fact that they occur as the opening act. The Bear was sold in physical form only in small numbers on the band's own site and at concerts, alternatively you can purchase the album only as MP3 Download.

Your last gig the band had on New Years Eve 2006 at the Ridglea Theater in Fort Worth, Texas. After the band split, but without having ever given a reason.

In May 2007, the band announced their reunion known and began work on a fourth studio album, which was never completed. On their MySpace page, the band gave in 2010 the following statement: "We know that all of you are wondering what is happening currently Ideally, we would be on the road and play and be a productive band, but life takes its course and certain aspects. it can not control. We still play, but life on the road is not currently feasible. Regarding a new album, we wrote some songs. In a perfect world, we would have already completed the CD production and they would already are in your hands. We have nothing but respect and love for you. "

After the activities on MySpace and the exchange with the fans have been set, it can be assumed that the band and their record label have since been resolved, even though there has never been to an official statement by Element Eighty. The drummer Ryan Carroll now plays for the Texas band Adakain.
