Elemér Somfay

Elemér Somfay ( born August 28, 1898 in Budapest, † 15 May 1979 ibid ) was a Hungarian athlete and modern pentathlete.

At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924, he won silver in the pentathlon and decathlon was on four disciplines. In 1932 he finished seventh in the pentathlon at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Four times he was Hungarian Champion in the decathlon (1926, 1927, 1929, 1930), once in the pentathlon (1924 ), four times in the 200 - meter hurdles ( 1922-1924, 1930), six times in the 400 - meter hurdles ( 1923-1927, 1929) and four in the triple jump (1922, 1924, 1926, 1927). In the latter discipline he was also 1925 English champion.
