Elena Kats- Chernin (* November 4, 1957 in Tashkent ) is a Uzbekistan- Australian composer.

Life

Elena Kats- Chernin studied at Gnessins Institute Moscow, but emigrated in 1975 with her ​​family to Australia. A scholarship has made it possible for her to study from 1980 to 1982 with Helmut Lachenmann. Kats- Chernin was announced at the beginning of the 90s in Europe on the one hand, by performances of the Ensemble Modern as well as incidental music for productions by Andrea Breth (especially at the Vienna Burgtheater ).
