Their music is very little committed to the European avant-garde. Rather, it is described as a very easygoing and extremely vital appropriation of various traditions that also integrates popular sources such as klezmer, and music-hall sounds easily in their style. It is therefore very accessible, highly virtuosic, but never populist.

Your first opera Iphis she wrote in 1997. Among other things, she also wrote a new soundtrack to the Swedish movie classic The driver of the death of Victor Sjöström.

2009 Kats- Chernin has written on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the death of Joseph Haydn a composition for a piano trio " Calliope Dreaming", which was performed at the Herrenhausen Festival in Hanover and by the Haydn Trio Eisenstadt.
