Elena Tairova

Jelena Kairatowna Tairowa (Russian: Елена Кайратовна Таирова, English transcription, which is used by the FIDE Elena Tairova; born August 28, 1991, Minsk, † March 16, 2010 in Moscow) was a Russian chess player.

Tairowa was at the age of 14 years, female grandmaster and a year later International Chess Champion. She represented Russia in 2007 in an international match against China in the same year and won the shared first place in the Russian Super Final, where they defeated among others Nadezhda Kossinzewa. Tairowa youth was European champion in 2001 and the age group U10 World Junior Champion in the age group U14 2005.

Tairowa was suffering from lung cancer, which first appeared in 2008. After a temporary improvement they felt from the end of 2009 so ill that she could no longer participate in chess tournaments.

Your last FIDE rating of 2455 ELO points, it shows as an emerging talent whose potential Zenit was prevented by the early death: she had worked her way up to November 2009 on the seventh best young player in the world and # 38 of the Women's World Ranking.

On March 16, 2010, she died at the age of 18 the carcinoma.
