Eli Fara

Eli Fara ( born October 21, 1967 in Drenova ) is an Albanian singer. It is one of the best known performers of traditional Tosk folk music of their native region around Korce.

Life

The musical career of Eli Fara received through their participation in the Folk Music Festival of Gjirokastra in 1988 a major boom. The musical style of their home region is similar to the rebetiko in neighboring Greece. However, the Albanian elements shall prevail. Her repertoire also includes serenades and other urban songs. Also typical toskische folk songs from other regions of southern Albania (including Përmet ) are often part of their performances.
