Elias Martin

Elias Martin ( baptized March 8, 1739 in Stockholm, † January 25, 1818 ) was a Swedish painter who became known for his landscapes and genre paintings and portraits awareness.

Martin was the son of a cabinetmaker Olof Martin and Ulrika main, a sister of the furniture maker Georg Haupt. Martin received his first lessons from his father, and because of his talent, he later became a painter FC Schultz sent. Martin's brother Johan Fredrik Martin was a graphic designer and professor at the Swedish Academy of Arts. During his time in Martin was familiar with artists like Bellman, Erik Palmstedt and Johan Tobias Sergel. In his later years he retired due to an eye condition and economic problems more and more from social life.

Elias Martin was buried in the Church of Adolf Fredrik in Stockholm cemetery.
