Elin Rosseland

Elin Rosseland ( born April 5, 1959) is a Norwegian jazz singer and composer.

Biography

Elin Rosseland was from 1980 to 1984 formed at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, where she teaches today. After completing her studies, she sang in her quintet Fair Play 1987-1990 in association with Tor Yttredal, Vigleik Storaas, John Eick and Trond Kopperud. After several years of involvement in the group Søyr (1986-1994) she made between 1995 and 1999 along with Sidsel Endresen and Eldbjørg Raknes the vocal trio ESE. Furthermore Rosseland played in a trio with pianist Christian Wallumrød and bassist John Eick. For the recording of the trio Fra Himmelen she was awarded the Norwegian NOPA Award 1996. 2004 she took with vibraphonist Rob Waring and John Eick under their name on the CD now. In Elin Rosseland trio she plays together with Rob Waring and bassist Mats Eilertsen. In 2006, she was involved in the Oslo Jazz Festival in the performance of arranged by Helge Hurum Big Band Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg.
