Elinton Andrade

Elinton Sanchotene Andrade ( born March 30, 1979 in Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul ) is a Brazilian football goalkeeper, who is without a club since the summer of 2012. Most recently, he was at Olympique Marseille under contract.

Career

Andrade first played at clubs from Rio de Janeiro Area, before he had a brief involvement with the Italian club Ascoli Calcio 2006. Then he ventured in July 2007, the step abroad and hired the Romanian Erstligaclub Rapid Bucharest. In the state capital, he represented mostly Dănuţ Coman him but could not repress as goalkeeper. Nevertheless, he played 36 league games in two years for Rapid and came to three UEFA Cup inserts, where the opponents were always Bundesliga. In 2009 he was engaged by Olympique Marseille, where he is goalkeeper ever since. 2009/10 he was able to win the French championship, which he himself had contributed his only previous three Erstligaeinsätzen for the South of France.

On March 28, 2012, he stood in the quarter -final first leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich in the starting lineup, as goalkeeper Steve Mandanda was missing because of a yellow-red barrier and substitute goalkeeper Gennaro Bracigliano just sat on the bench. In the summer of 2012, he left the club.
