Elisabeth Moore

Elizabeth Holmes Moore ( born March 5, 1876 Brooklyn, New York City; † 22 January 1959 Starke, Florida) was an American tennis player.

She won in 1896, 1901, 1903 and 1905, the U.S. Open women's singles. They also won in 1896 and 1903 the title in women's doubles and 1902 and 1904 the title in mixed doubles.

Her greatest strength was their physique. She won once in two days, two games over five sets. Be much to her displeasure since 1902 the games in women's tennis only three winning sets played ( with the exception of the WTA Tour Championships from 1984 to 1998 ).
