Elisebeht Markström

Elisebeht Markström ( born December 14, 1955 in the St. Nicolai Församling, Södermanland County ) is a Swedish politician of Sveriges socialdemokratiska arbetareparti.

Life

Markström was from October 1995 to October 2010 Member of the Swedish Parliament. There she was until 2006 deputy member of the Constitutional Committee. In addition, it was until 1996 deputy member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, to 1998 to 2002 deputy member and a member of the Committee on Health and Welfare, and finally a member until 2010 in the Judiciary Committee.

From January to May 2008, she was deputy chairman of the Joint Committee on Justice, Health and Social Affairs, and from 2006 to 2010 in the Riksdag deputy directorate. From October 2002 to November 202 she was a member of the Delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The personal contact had been open longer living politician in 2006 with an interview in the March issue of the magazine QX scene her going public and was the first openly lesbian MP in Sweden. She lives with her partner Christine Gilljam, has a married daughter and a grandson.
