Elke Hoff

Elke Hoff ( born June 20, 1957 in Unkel ) is a German politician (FDP).

Life and career

After graduation in 1976 at the Rhein- Wied -Gymnasium in Neuwied Elke Hoff began studying German literature, philosophy and political science at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, which they broke off in 1980 due to pregnancy. Instead, she trained as a clerk in the real estate and housing industry, which she finished in 1982. From 1985 to 1991 she was a staff member in the Press and Public Relations Construction Association and the Federal Association of Company Health Insurance.

From 1992 to 2000 Elke Hoff was as a full-time councilor of the district of Neuwied Deputy Mayor for Economy, Transport, road building, construction and renovation of villages, schools, youth and culture. From 2000 to 2005 she was Vice President of the Structural and Approval Directorate Nord in Koblenz and at the same time Head of Department of Regional Planning, Regional Planning, Conservation and expropriation / compensation.

Elke Hoff is married and has three children.

Party

Since 1981 she is a member of the FDP. From 1985 to 1997 she was chairman of the FDP District Association Neuwied and since 2007 has been deputy state chairman of the FDP Rhineland- Palatinate. In 2011, she was elected to the Presidium of the federal FDP.

Member of Parliament

From 2005 to 2013 she was a member of the German Bundestag. Here she was from 2005 to 2009 spokesperson for the FDP parliamentary group on disarmament policy and since 2009 for security policy. She was also a regular member of the Defence Committee and substitute member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. She has, as in 2009 it was announced a seat in the board of the German Association for Defence Technology (DWT ), which she had not filed before the Bundestag.

Elke Hoff has moved over the national list of Rhineland- Palatinate in the Bundestag. At the general election in 2013 Hoff did not occur again.
