Ellen van Dijk
Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (born 11 February 1987 in Harmelen ) is a Dutch cyclist who is active on the track and road.
Personal
Ellen van Dijk grew up in Woerden, Harmelen (Utrecht ) and has two brothers. She currently lives in Amsterdam. She graduated 2005 Minkema College ( Woerden ) and acquired in 2011 a Bachelor in Human Movement Sciences at the Free University of Amsterdam. After the 2012 Summer Olympics she plans to complete a Masters degree in Human Movement Sciences.
Sporting career
From child to Ellen van Dijk was very athletic; she practiced from gymnastics, volleyball and speed skating. However, by her brother, she came to the sport of cycling.
2003 Eleonora van Dijk was Dutch road champion of youth for the first time. Multiple they could repeat in the years that followed this success in different age groups and different disciplines to rail and road. In 2006, she was University World Champion on the road, in the time trial, they took second place. In 2008 she was on the street in Stresa European champion; at the track European Championships ( junior ) in the same year, she was able to win two titles ( Scratch, Points race ). In addition, she was able to record many stage successes in road racing for themselves. In 2009 she was again European Champion on the road, in the time trial. In the UCI Track World Championships 2008 in Manchester was Ellen van Dijk World Champion Scratch. Since 2009, she riding for Team Columbia, Team Specialized lululemon which today is called.
