Elnur Hüseynov

Elnur Huseynov ( born March 7, 1987 in Ashkhabad, Turkmen SSR) is an Azerbaijani singer. He represented Azerbaijan at the Euro Vision Song Contest (ESC ) 2008.

Biography

Huseynov was born in the then Soviet Ashgabat, Turkmenistan capital today as a son of Azerbaijani parents. At the age of five years Huseynov was adopted at a music school for gifted children and trained there as a pianist. 1999 the family moved to Baku (Azerbaijan ), where Hüseynov first studied dentistry. He then attended the Zeynalli Music Academy, where he made in 2004 its conclusion. He then worked for a short time at the Azerbaidschanischen State Opera and the " Ballet Theatre " and the choir group of the " State Azerbaidschanischen Philharmonic Society " and sang the way in a church choir. In 2003 he won first place in the music competition Sing Your Song of the Azerbaijani TV station Lider TV.

Participation in the Euro Vision Song Contest

On February 2, 2008 Huseynov won along with Samir Javadzade the Azerbaijani preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest 2008 ( ES), Land of Fire, with the song Day After Day. Huseynov and Javadzade faced so as angels ( Hüseynov ) and devil on ( Javadzade ). In the first semifinal of the ESC on 20 May 2008 it was possible both to position itself among the top ten posts. This meant a place in the four days later held the final, where they finished in eighth place among a total of 25 participants in the victory of the Russian Dima Bilan. Azerbaijan took part in it for the first time at the Euro Vision Song Contest.
