Els de Groen

Elly de Groen- Kouwenhoven ( born December 23, 1949 in The Hague ) is a Dutch politician of the party Transparant Europe.

Life

Elly de Groen- Kouwenhoven studied French and worked in from 1975 to 1979 as a teacher at a secondary school. After that she worked as a writer, essayist, journalist. She was also busy reviewer for young people's literature and as an editor of children's page in the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper. She is the author of books and literary non-fiction books for adults. One of their priorities is Eastern Europe. In addition to her work, she is free of charge since 2002 Beratererin at the Dutch Foundation " Roma Emancipatie " in Oss.

Policy

It belongs to the party of Europe Transparant. In addition to the founders of the party, Paul van Buitenen it is the second deputy of the party that is a member of the European Parliament since 2004. Both politicians are as independent members of the Group of the Greens / European Free Alliance. In Parliament, de Groen- Kouwenhoven sits in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and is a member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Europe.
