Else Sehrig-Vehling

Else Sehrig - Vehling ( born May 26, 1897 in Dusseldorf, † February 12, 1994 in Bad Salzuflen ) was a German painter of Expressionism.

Life

She was born as the daughter of the architect Heinrich Vehling (1868-1944) and Eva Hubertine ( born Habes ) ( 1874-1953 ) in Dusseldorf. She was a member of the artist group The Young Rhineland. Your style was influenced by friendships with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Carl Barth, Max Schwimmer, Fritz Winter and other German Expressionists.

She studied at the Dusseldorf Art Academy and was an important figure of the Düsseldorf art scene. In 1933 she married Hermann Sehrig, German artist and member of the Deutscher Werkbund.

The Town Museum in Dusseldorf her watercolor is 1950 cover girl.
