Elverum

Elverum is a small town and municipality to the northeast in the Norwegian Fylke Hedmark, situated on the river Glomma in Østerdal of Oslo.
History
The city was the capital for a short time during the German occupation of Norway, as the royal family had to flee to Sweden and made a stop here. The historic cityscape ( building in the " Parisian style " ) was destroyed during air raids in April 1940. Since the founding of the College of Hedmark in 1994 Elverum is a student town.

- The Glomdalsmuseum is an art-historical museum and the third largest open-air museum in Norway.
- The Norwegian Forestry Museum (Norsk Skogbruksmuseum ) contains collections relating to forestry, hunting and fishing.
