Elvir Baljić

Elvir Baljić türk Elvir Balic ( born July 8, 1974 in Sarajevo, then SFR Yugoslavia, now Bosnia - Herzegovina ) is a former Bosnian - Herzegovinian national football player and current assistant coach of the Bosnian - Herzegovinian National Team. He has next to the Bosnian and Turkish citizenship.

Career

Club career

The 1.86 meter tall midfielder began in his hometown of Sarajevo with the football game, from where he moved to Turkey to Bursaspor. About the Turkish first division came Elvir Baljić 1998 for just under € 9.5 million to the Turkish top club Fenerbahce Istanbul, where he was able to show the height of his, until then running career and ultimately because of its excellent performance in 1999 for the equivalent of about 23,000. 000 euro was bought by Real Madrid. Due to a torn ACL he could there, however, rarely prevail in the first team and returned thus again to Fenerbahce back, but only as a loan. In summer 2002, Elvir Baljić was discharged free transfer to Galatasaray, before he was previously not rented in the meantime to the Spanish side Rayo Vallecano. With Galatasaray he was in the 2002/ 03 Turkish runners-up. In the season 04/ 05 Baljić moved to Konyaspor and ended, shocked all Konyaspor fans, with 31 years in the winter break of his career. Although he finished his career, but he was able, on the one hand part of the board of the Bosnian national team and on the other hand the part persuaded by Konyaspor at least one to two more years to work as a professional. He then wrote in 2006 a one-year contract with MKE Ankaragucu and thus preserved also the national team. However, he was at his old services not able to go and left the club prematurely. In 2006 he signed a contract until 2008 at Istanbulspor Bank Asya 1 Lig in and thus ended his career.

National

Baljić was a player of Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team. He has a total of 38 games and scored 14 goals Bosnia denied it. In the only previous game in his home country against the German national football team on 11 October 2002 in Sarajevo Baljić scored the 1-0 goal in the 21st minute. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Baljićs trademarks are white or blue sweat band that he wears at every game. In addition Baljić is a passionate singer. He has also ( in German: A New Day ) already released his first album under the name Novi dan released in 2006.

In addition Bosnian Baljić speaks fluent Turkish.

In 2010 he was appointed assistant coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team.
