Emamzadeh Jafar, Isfahan

Imamzade Jafar is a Imamzade in Isfahan, Iran. It is located opposite the religious Esmail complex. It is an outstanding building from the Ilchanen era. It was built in 1325. It is said that it is the burial place of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, a Gefährter of Mohammad. The building was previously located in the middle of a large courtyard, but he is now surrounded by residential buildings. The mausoleum is hexagonal and short and it looks like that it previously had a pyramid-shaped dome, but the dome was destroyed and another dome as the dome of the tomb in Tschalabioghlu Soltanije was built for it. The Imamzade is partially decorated with ceramic tiles.
