Embassy of Ukraine, Berlin

The Ukrainian Embassy in Berlin is the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Germany.

History

After the First World War was created in 1918 with the People's Republic of Ukraine and the Ukrainian government for the first time a Ukrainian nation-state. The German Empire recognized the state and Theodor von Steinheil became the first Ukrainian ambassador to Germany. Mykola Porsch ( USDRP ) was followed by the Ukrainian ambassador. After the demise of the independent Ukrainian state in 1920, Mykola Porsch remained as an exile in Germany.

In 1991, Ukraine declared its independence. On January 17, 1992 diplomatic relations were established between Ukraine and Germany.

Embassy building in Berlin

The seat of the message is the former administrative building of the Municipal Gas Works in Berlin -Mitte. It was built in 1910 by Ludwig Hoffmann and rebuilt after the fall of 1992. It is available as part of the building ensembles Friedrich -Wilhelm -Stadt under monument protection.
