Embraer KC-390

The Embraer KC -390 is from the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer project for a military tactical medium transport aircraft.

History

The KC -390 should build technologically under the name C -390 on the commercial Embraer 190 jet originally, but this was rejected in the course of development. The project was headed by design studies in 2007 officially on the Latin American Aerospace & Defense Conference & Exhibition, in short: engl. LAAD, presented by Embraer. Currently it is in the advanced stages of development. The date for the first flight was not confirmed reportedly in 2012. At the Farnborough International Airshow in July 2010 it was the part of the manufacturer, in 2014.

In exchange for the purchase of aircraft were a number of States interests in the KC -390 program decided (see User ) during the year 2010. To this end, work packages will be awarded to the local aviation industry, for example, the Colombia Aeronautics Industry Corporation of Chile and Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica, or Embraer sets up its own branch plants, such as in Portugal Évora. The Argentine FADEA is responsible among other things for spoilers, doors, nose gear, loading ramp door, flap fairings and the tail cone, the Aero Vodochody Czech for parts of the wing leading edges of the rear fuselage, more doors and loading dock. Other European suppliers are Liebherr in Toulouse ( cabin pressure control ) and Messier Bugatti Dowty (part of the chassis ).

Construction

The KC -390 is a high-wing monoplane with two jet engines. It can be refueled in the air and myself also as a tanker fuel available.

The facilities are a rear ramp with loading system, MEDEVAC configuration, modern flight control and instrumentation are. The aircraft also features all-weather and day / night operational capability and can also start from short unpaved places.

Use

Brazil Brazil

In April 2009 it was announced that the Brazilian Air Force intends to procure 23 aircraft KC -390. In July 2010, the amount was increased to 28, the commissioning is to take place end of 2015.

Argentina Argentina

Argentina has taken in October 2010 as the fifth country in exchange of a purchase of five machines, an agreement to participate in the program about his state Fábrica Argentina de Aviones ( FADEA ).

Chile Chile

Colombia Colombia

Colombia has the summer of 2010 also expressed his interest to be involved by possibly 12 aircraft in the program in exchange a purchase.

Portugal

Portugal has taken to participate in the program in September 2010 as the third country to Chile and Colombia, in exchange of a purchase by the case in Portugal six machines, an agreement.

Czech Republic Czech Republic

With the Czech Republic has another Airbus Military customer expressed in the summer of 2010, interest in program participation, the exchange of possibly 2 transporters.

France France

France negotiated in 2009 for the purchase of ten KC- 390 - than offsetting transaction for a possible purchase of the Rafale for Brazil's air force.
