Emil Adamič

Emil Adamič (born 25 December 1877 in Dobrova, † December 6, 1936 in Ljubljana) was a Yugoslav composer.

Adamič was trained at the conservatories of Trieste and Ljubljana. In the years 1915-1920 Adamič was imprisoned in Russia in Tashkent. During this time he was there was a music teacher at the College of Education and at the conservatory.

After his return, he lived as a music teacher and composer until his death in Ljubljana. From 1930 he was Professor of Music in Ljubljana.

Work

Adamič composed orchestral works ( Tatar Suite, watercolors from Ljubljana), choral works ( The Devil's Bride, Emperor Samuel's death) and songs (Bauer winter song, Nachtgesänge ) in which he used elements of Slovenian folk music.
