Emil Sjögren

Emil Sjögren ( born June 16, 1853 in Stockholm, † March 1, 1918 in Knivsta, Sweden) was a Swedish composer and pianist.

Sjögren studied from 1869 to 1874 at the conservatory in Stockholm and from 1879 to 1890 with Friedrich Kiel in the Royal Academic College of performing art of music. He later worked as a music teacher and organist in Stockholm. He is best known for his songs, his five sonatas for violin and piano, and his numerous piano compositions.

2003 Emil Sjögren's Society was founded in Sweden.
