Émile Dottrens
Emile Dottrens ( in the French spelling Émile Dottrens ) (* July 21, 1900, † 29 September 1990) was a Swiss ichthyologist and conservationists.
Life
1942 Dottrens research associate in the department of zoology at the Muséum d' histoire naturelle de la Ville de Genève. From 1953 to 1969 he was director of the museum. Dottrens was a member of the IUCN, the Swiss conservation organization Pro Natura and the Société de Physique et d' Histoire Naturelle de Genève. During his term as President of the International CIPRA between 1960 to 1968 he campaigned for the recognition of this association as a non-governmental organization by the Euro Europe.
Emile Dottrens wrote several scientific articles on the Swiss freshwater fish fauna, in particular the genus Coregonus.
