Emilio Aceval

Emilio Aceval (* 1853, † 1931) was a Paraguayan politician and from 1898 to 1902 the 26th President of Paraguay.

In his youth he fought in the Triple Alliance War and was wounded twice. He was educated and traveled a lot to Europe and the United States. He was director of the National Bank ( Banco Nacional del Paraguay) and later Minister of War in the Cabinet of President Juan Bautista Egusquiza.

Emilio Aceval sat a reinforced for the poorer inhabitants of the land. He was a member of the Colorado Party and was there to the Egusquistas, who advocated cooperation with the Liberals, in contrast to the Caballeristas. Its exact term of office ran from 25 November 1898 to 9 January 1902. His government was ended by the military coup of Juan Antonio Ezcurra and Fulgencio Moreno, who were among the Caballeristas.
