Emmanuel des Essarts

Emmanuel Dessessart (* 1839, † 1909) was a French writer.

Dessessart was a son of Alfred Dessessart, which served as librarian the treasures of the Library of Sainte-Geneviève. At the end of his schooling became friends with Jean Lahor Des Dessessart, Eugène Lefébure and Stéphane Mallarmé. Along with these friends he was enthusiastic about the modern, avant-garde literature (including Charles Baudelaire's " Les Fleurs du Mal "). Later they counted them - even Des Essats father - to the environment of the Parnassian.

As a professor of rhetoric Des Dessessart later worked at the " Lycée Imperial" in Avignon, where he made acquaintance with Frédéric Mistral and its grouping of Félibrige.
