Emmanuel Lubezki

Emmanuel " Chivo " Lubezki ( born 1964 in Mexico City) is a Mexican cinematographer. He is also active as a producer and director.

Life

His career as a cinematographer, he started in the mid 80s in the Mexican television. In 1993 he participated Twenty Bucks - Money is money - or is it? for the first time at a U.S. production.

He often turns to the director Alfonso Cuarón, with whom he is on friendly terms. At the Academy Awards in 2014, he was honored for his camera work with Cuaron's film Gravity with the Oscar for best cinematography.
