Emmaus is a borough in Lehigh County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located six miles southwest of Allentown. In 2000, Emmaus had 11,313 inhabitants. The town was founded in 1759 as a settlement of the Moravian Church and Moravian Church in North America. From 1830 to 1938 was the place name Emaus, which is due to the spelling of the Pennsylvania Dutch. Emmaus is connected by the Cedar Crest Boulevard directly with Interstate 78.
