Emre Elivar

Emre Elivar ( born August 21, 1976 in Ankara) is a Turkish concert pianist.

Emre Elivar began with five years his piano studies and graduated from the State Conservatory in Ankara. A DAAD scholarship enabled him to his further education at the University of Music " Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden by Peter Rosel and then at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler " in Berlin with Georg Sava, where he finished his concert examination with triple award.

Elivar proved his talent through a number of awards at international piano competitions, such as in 1999 in Bremen, where he won three times. In the same year the " Cidado do Porto " and in 2000 in the " World Piano Competition " in Cincinnati, he got the bronze medal; In 2001 he won the Steinway Prize in 2002 the Arthur Schnabel Price and 2003 the Vendôme Prize.

Among his most important concerts at international level include the Turkey premiere of the first issue of the works of JS Bach " The Well-Tempered Clavier " as part of the Istanbul International Music Festival in 2005, the great variations evening with works by F. Mendelssohn ( Variations sérieuses op 54 ) J. Brahms (both books of Paganini Variations, Op 35) and L. v. Beethoven ( Diabelli Variations op 120) again in the context of the Istanbul International Music Festival in 2008, his U.S. debut in Washington DC in 2009, dedicated as part of " Embassy Series", rarely played works by R. Schumann and Chopin and his program of works by Shostakovich ( aphorisms op 13 and Sonata No. 2, Op 61) and Prokofiev ( Visions Fugitives op. 22, sarcasms op 17, and Sonata No. 2, op 14). As a soloist he has performed with orchestras such as the Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Northwest German Philharmonic, the Dortmund Philharmonic State Orchestra Kassel, Dessau Anhalt Philharmonic, Bilkent Symphony Orchestra, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquestra Nacional do Porto, Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, among others

In addition to his recording Bremer competition with the French Suite No. 3, BWV 817 by JS Bach and the Piano Concerto No. 1 by F. Liszt, the artist took until now works various Turkish composer and as a double album, the three last sonatas, opp. 109, 110, 111 and the Diabelli Variations, Op 120 by L. v. Beethoven. The CD of works by F. Schubert ( Three Piano Pieces D 946 ) and R. Schumann ( Symphonic Etudes, Op 13) was met with great reviews at the international level. Took place in June 2010, almost exactly on the 200th birthday of R. Schumann Concerto with the two sonatas, which was broadcast live to 50 member stations of the European Broadcasting Union.
