Enchant (Software)
Enchant (English for enchant ) is a free software to check spelling, which acts as an intelligent front-end for a number of common spell checking libraries. It has been developed since 2003 by Dom Lachowicz within the AbiWord project in C and C and under the conditions of a variant of the GNU Lesser General Public License ( LGPL) as free software distributed in source code. Besides the used program routines library glib2 it has no dependencies and is equipped with different build systems compilable for a variety of platforms. Apart from the use in AbiWord were Gnome Spell and GtkSpell changed from Pspell to Enchant and use in KOffice, the typesetting software LyX and the XML editor Conglomerate is considered. Furthermore, it has been proposed as freedesktop.org standard.
