The Enders Bahnhof in wine city is located on kilometer 14.4 of the Rems Railway and is a station in the network of the Stuttgart S-Bahn.

History

The construction of the Remsthalbahn from Cannstatt to Wasseralfingen the Royal Württemberg State Railways had north of Enders Bach make some earthworks. About the Haldenbach and the road to Großheppach they built a viaduct with four arches. Shortly after came the Enders Bahnhof. On July 25, 1861 as scheduled rolled the first trains on the new line.

The station building is still preserved. It is a two storey sandstone building with a high knee wall and a flat roof. Since May 27, 1962, the Rems Railway between Waiblingen and Schorndorf is electrified. On 27 September 1981, the commissioning of the Stuttgart S- Bahn line S 2 took place, the Endersbach now exclusively served.

Railway operation

The station is served by line S 2 S-Bahn Stuttgart. Track 1, the main platform, is used to enable Zugüberholungen in schedule deviations or malfunctions. On track 2 keep the S-Bahn to Schorndorf, on track 3, the direction Waiblingen.
