Endiama

Endiama ( Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola EP) is a public and thus state-owned company in Angola, responsible for the research, exploration, exploration, processing and marketing of those rough diamonds and in the north east of the southwest African country, mainly in the provinces of Lunda Norte Lunda Sul are mined.

All activities in the mining and trading of diamonds in Angola are controlled by the Endiama. Currently, the diamond production in Angola is in the grand total 9-10 million carats per year. This represents revenue from the sales of diamonds of around one billion U.S. dollars

Endiama was founded in 1981 in Luanda, Angola, and has now grown into a holding company with several subsidiaries. The head office is located at Rua Major Kanhangulo in Luanda city center. Employs approximately 400 employees. Chairman of the Board is António Carlos Sumbula.

In 2005 Endiama has concluded with the China International Fund Limited, a partnership agreement. For this, the Endiama China International Holding Limited was founded in Hong Kong. The company is engaged in the exploration, research, production and marketing of industrial and gem diamonds.

On 23 January 2011, announced that Endiama has with the California Mineral Star Mining and the Angolan Sovinhos signed a partnership agreement for the exploration of diamonds in the region of Cangadala, in the province of Malanje.

The company is alleged to be related to the mass expulsion of 'illegal' diamond miners from the Democratic Republic of Congo since 2007 for human rights violations accountable.
