Enrico Marconi

Enrico Marconi, known in Poland as Henryk Marconi ( born January 7, 1792 in Rome, † February 21, 1863 in Warsaw), was an Italian- Polish architect who spent most of his life in Congress Poland.

Initially taught by his father Leandro, he studied 1806-1810 at the University of Bologna and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. In 1822 he was commissioned by General Ludwik Michał Pac, whose palace to complete in Dowspuda. He moved to Warsaw, where he worked from 1827 for the Council of State and where he became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Enrico Marconi married the daughter of the gardener of General Pac, Małgorzata ( Margaret ) Heiton that came from a Scottish family who emigrated to Poland. Two sons of the couple, Leandro and Władysław Marconi were also architects. The son Karol Antoni Marconi was acting in Warsaw muralist.
