Enrico Maria Salerno

Enrico Maria Salerno (born 18 September 1926 in Milan, † February 28, 1994 in Rome ) was an Italian actor and film director.

Life

Salerno came with his family as a child to Rome. In 1949 he was the first part of a troupe of actors and played until 1952 at the " Piccoli Theatres " of Milan and Rome. From 1954/1955, he joined the Teatro Stabile of Genoa, three years later, Salerno celebrates one of his greatest stage success with "Il diavolo Peter " by Salvato Capelli. The first major film role came in 1959; on the canvas, he brought his skills alongside works of importance also in many genre productions.

In 1960, Salerno with Giancarlo Sbragia and Ivo Garrani " La Compagnia degli Attori Associati ", which also took care of next productions to social concerns of actors. Also co-founded by him in the same year " Società Attori Italiani " was berufsständisch active. His stage roles were numerous and full of successes; he is referred to as " most complete " actor, who was just as talented as bizarre. From 1964, Salerno was the Italian voice of Clint Eastwood in Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy films and of Jesus Christ in the film Il secondo Matteo vangelo ( The first Gospel - Matthew), directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini.

In the following years, Salerno played parallel to the film, where he was obliged only to take place on days shooting, and on the stage. From the mid- 1980s, television was also among his employers. Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman in 1993 on their own his last role.

Salerno was honored for his directing debut Anonimo veneziano with a special David di Donatello; in 1961 he had received a Nastro d' Argento for his interpretation in La lunga notte del'43.
