Music style

Enthrone Darkness Triumphant contains less doom metal influences over its predecessor Stormblåst, but was described by Pedro Azevedo of Chronicles of Chaos yet as " very dark and doomy piece symphonic, melodic Black Metal ". In contrast to the EP Devil 's Path album again contains keyboards and is thus Stormblåst closer, but faster and stronger. Peter Tägtgren gave the band a " strong [ n] and polished [n ] " sound.

Reviews

Azevedo stated that this handle to one of his favorite black metal albums ever. He also praised the " very dark and successful " digipak design. He would have preferred it if the band would have tried, " their epic sound with a more epic length to connect ", as the average length of the pieces lie at about 5 minutes. In an article in the Metal Hammer on the occasion of the German version of Lords of Chaos was Enthrone Darkness Triumphant as one of " 13 major [n ] albums that were released in the mainstream since the 1996 breakthrough of Black Metal and the balancing act between modernity and tradition embody " listed and referred to as" the mainstream breakthrough, yet controversial ". The album was " copied [o ] ft", but was " never reached". According to Erik Thomas of Last Rites was the band with their first two albums still not on the level of Cradle of Filth, Arcturus, Emperor and Borknagar, which had, however, changed with Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. The album is their unmatched peak. Jason Anderson of AllMusic described Enthrone Darkness Triumphant as one of the most important Scandinavian Metal releases ever and Dimmu Borgir's " undisputed masterpiece". The album's success was based presumably on the move to Nuclear Blast and the decision to write the lyrics in English. The decision to start with Peter Tägtgren, had been not bad; he had the " most devastating " create sound of her career. Followers of Dimmu Borgir and generally of Black Metal, he recommended to add itself a copy at the next opportunity. However, the predecessor Stormblåst is the last in the scene yet accepted as a contribution to Black Metal work of the band.
