Epigraph (mathematics)

In mathematics, the epigraph of a real-valued function is the set of all points that lie on or above its graph.

Properties

Be a normed vector space. For functions applies:

• If and only convex if the epigraph of a convex set forms.
• If and only semi-continuous from below if the epigraph of a closed set forms.
