Eren Derdiyok (2008)

Eren Derdiyok ( born June 12, 1988 in Basel ) is a Swiss footballer of Kurdish origin, who also has Turkish citizenship. Since 2012 he is at the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim under contract, but is currently playing on loan at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Club career

Eren Derdiyoks parents are from the ( Alevi ) Kurdish settlement area in southeastern Turkey. His brother Enver also played football. He was born in Basel, playing four years of age at the Basel football club BSC Old Boys Basel, for whom he played in the 2005 Cup against FC Basel, scoring one goal. In 2006 he moved to FC Basel and since then came in the Swiss Super League action.
