Eren Derdiyok
Eren Derdiyok (2008)
Eren Derdiyok ( born June 12, 1988 in Basel ) is a Swiss footballer of Kurdish origin, who also has Turkish citizenship. Since 2012 he is at the Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim under contract, but is currently playing on loan at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Career
Club career
Eren Derdiyoks parents are from the ( Alevi ) Kurdish settlement area in southeastern Turkey. His brother Enver also played football. He was born in Basel, playing four years of age at the Basel football club BSC Old Boys Basel, for whom he played in the 2005 Cup against FC Basel, scoring one goal. In 2006 he moved to FC Basel and since then came in the Swiss Super League action.
6 April 2008 Derdiyok won with FC Basel Swisscom Cup and thus its first title. He played from the beginning and scored the intermediate 1-0 in the 31st minute. At the break, he has been replaced.
For the 2009/10 season Derdiyok joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga, where he made his debut on the opening day of the season and immediately scored a goal. He was able to prevail as a representative for the long -term injury against Theofanis Gekas and Patrick Helmes had with his good performances proportion of the fall championship Leverkusen. As a result, he remained a regular player after Helmes ' recovery. In the end, Bayer failed to qualify for the Champions League. In his second year Derdiyok was long again to the first eleven, came in the second half of the season but increasingly as a substitute for use. With 32 missions, he was still by far the most widely used striker of the team that was at the end of the season 2010/11 runners-up.
For the 2012/13 season Derdiyok moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He signed a four-year contract until 30 June 2016.
However, its performance and that of many other professionals in 1899 suffered from the high demands and eventually he was demoted with several professionals in the first team by new coach Gisdol in the so-called " training group 2 ". On August 30, 2013 Derdiyok return finally to the end of the 2013/14 season on loan to Bayer 04 Leverkusen back.
National
On 24 January 2008 Derdiyok got his first cap for the Swiss national team in the 1-2 defeat on February 6 against England at Wembley. In his debut, he scored in the 57th minute with his first goal for the national team for the meantime it 1-1. At the 2008 European Championships in Austria and Switzerland, he was in the squad of Switzerland and came to three inserts.
26 May 2012 Derdiyok scored three goals in a surprising 5-3 victory against the German National Team, the first Swiss victory against the Germans since 1956.
