Erich Bäumler

Erich Baeumler ( born January 6, 1930 in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, † 18 September 2003 in Rüsselsheim ) was a German football player.

Career

The versatile technician who was used mainly as a striker, began his career at the SpVgg Weiden, before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt in 1954. Baumler clung to the image of a Pechvogels because he was repeatedly hindered and thrown back in crucial situations his career from injury and illness.

During his time Weiden Baumler was called 15 times in the Bayern- selection, with whom he three times won the DFB - Pokal countries 1952-1954. In 1952, he was intended for the German Olympic squad selection, but was canceled at the last minute.

After his time in Frankfurt Baeumler moved in 1960 to 1 FSV Mainz 05, for whom he scored 26 goals in 56 league games.
