Erich Bäumler
Erich Baeumler ( born January 6, 1930 in Weiden in der Oberpfalz, † 18 September 2003 in Rüsselsheim ) was a German football player.
Career
The versatile technician who was used mainly as a striker, began his career at the SpVgg Weiden, before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt in 1954. Baumler clung to the image of a Pechvogels because he was repeatedly hindered and thrown back in crucial situations his career from injury and illness.
During his time Weiden Baumler was called 15 times in the Bayern- selection, with whom he three times won the DFB - Pokal countries 1952-1954. In 1952, he was intended for the German Olympic squad selection, but was canceled at the last minute.
1956 was Baeumler three times the German national team jersey - first on May 31, 1956 in Barcelona at the B match against Spain ( 3-1 ), in which the attacker as a goal succeeded as the senior international on 13 June 1956 in Oslo against Norway (3:1). The last DFB use Baumler was the B- international match on September 15, 1956 in Moscow against the Soviet Union (1:3), at the Baeumler came in to replace Bernhard Termath and remained without a goal. For Eintracht Frankfurt Baeumler has been used in over 300 games for the first team, of which 110 were league games in which he scored 41 goals. At the then largest club successes, the German Football Championship in 1959 and moving into the final of the European Champions Cup in 1960 was instrumental in Baeumler, but in both cases could not participate in the respective finals due to illness or injury.
After his time in Frankfurt Baeumler moved in 1960 to 1 FSV Mainz 05, for whom he scored 26 goals in 56 league games. From 1962, he had his career end with Opel Rüsselsheim, where he, as with Mainz 05 and the maximum SG, the SG Egelsbach, the VfR wholesale Gerau and SG Kelkheim worked after his playing days as a coach.
Professional Baumler was subsequently first Dispatchers at the Federal Railways, later head of the real estate office in Rüsselsheim.
